The annual Advent carol service will be held in St Saviour's church at 6.00 pm. The main village carol service will be held on November 24th followed by at slide presentation on the History of St Saviour's Trevone in the Village Hall at 7.30

Beware bogus parcel scam

News: Warning over bogus parcel scam
Its been brought to our attention the following….

Mail hoaxer postal scam. Can you circulate this around especially as Xmas is fast approaching - it has been confirmed by Royal Mail as a hoax. The Trading Standards Office are making people aware of the following scam: A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. If you do receive a card with these details, then please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk

Well Parc Children in Need 2009

As usual, everyone at the Well Parc Hotel in Trevone is making a monumental effort to ensure that the annual Children in Need week raises as much money as possible. The programme for this year's events is as follows:

Tuesday 17th November - Pudsey's Quiz Night; teams of 3 - 5, £2.00 per person with prizes for 1st, 2nd and Booby.
Starting at 8.30pm

Friday 20th November - Line Dancing from 7.30 for beginners
Friday 20th November - Line Dancing from 8.30 - 9.00 for the more advanced
Fully licenced bar available.

Saturday 21st November - Pudsey's Christmas Ball from 7.00pm
Christmas theme to clothes even if it's just a set of antlers!
£35.00 per ticket for a 5-course sit-down meal with live entertainment and fun casino plus fantastic raffle and auction.

Sunday 22nd November - Pudsey's Children's party and family entertainment, time 2.00 - 4.00pm
Keep an eye open for notices in the village. It will probably be from 1.00 - 5.00pm

Well Parc Bonfire postponed

Please note that the big November 5th bonfire and fireworks event at the Well Parc was postponed due to the extremely dangerous high gusts of wind forecast for the night. The winds would have blown the fireworks directly into the public viewing area so for safety reasons. Sadly the 14th November, the new date, proved to be even more tempestuous. It has been postponed and will now happen on December 28th.

Halloween at the Well Parc

While the children were busy trick or treating, the adults were hard at work painting their faces and struggling into all manner of spooky fancy dress to celebrate Ray Mills' birthday. It was such a success that many of the guests suggested that it become an annual event. Judge for yourselves! Here is a selection of villagers. See who you can recognise amongs the pictures here.

Trick or treating in Trevone

Trevone certainly pushed the boat out for Halloween 2009. Three groups of children (split according to age) toured the village in wonderful costumes trick or treating and there was an abundance of glowing pumpkins to welcome them. Many householders had dressed up in suitably scary costumes to welcome them and in some cases, almost frightened them off before they received any sweets or chocolate!
