The following article in the Times Online sums up the state of the areas waters… TaWRA has been monitoring Tevone’s water quality since its inception, getting results of the biweekly tests that the Environment Agency take throughout the summers. At this stage it is impossible to give any advice and there is no clear mechanism for protection of the public unless the problem is so visible that the lifeguards choose to close the beach.
From my perspective, I wont be letting my daughter bath in the stream or “lagoon” at the top of the beach, but I'll take my chances and still be surfing when the waves are up.
